Frequently Asked Questions

Will I have a copay?
Your insurance provider may require a copay for your visit. Most insurance cards will indicate the cost of your copay. If not, you can call your insurance provider to find out.
What happens when I arrive for my appointment?

Upon arriving at the office where your appointment is scheduled, you will check in at the front desk. Fill out information sheets regarding your medical history and what has brought you to the office. When your exam room is ready, a nurse will escort you there. After a routine assessment, your physician will see you to complete the exam, answer your questions, and determine the next steps for treatment.

How much will I owe for a CT scan or other testing?
Augusta ENT will always conduct a precertification with your insurance provider before a CT scan, or any other testing, is administered. This ensures that you will know how much is owed after the test is performed.
How do I schedule my surgery?
If your physician determines that you require a surgical procedure, we will submit a request to your insurance provider. They ask for 7-14 business days to respond. Once they approve your procedure, one of our schedulers will call to find a date that works best for you. You will also receive a call for one of our financial coordinators to discuss payment based on insurance deductibles and other factors.
Do you take Medicare?
Yes, we do accept Medicare.
What medicines do I need to stop taking before my procedure or allergy test?
It varies based on the procedure or test that will be conducted. If you are having surgery, a pre-op nurse will provide you with a list of medications to avoid. If you are having an allergy test, one of our allergy nurses will discuss the required medicine restrictions.
How long does it take to get the results of my CT scan

Your physician is able to review your CT scan with you the same day as your appointment.

Do I need to bring a list of my medications?
Yes, it is helpful for the physicians to have this information for a number of reasons. Your current medications might be contributing to your symptoms, or they could dictate which medications your physician may or may not be able to prescribe.
